• Conservation Area permits can be purchased at the Tourist Services Centre with some charges and two photographs.

• National Park entry tickets cost some charges and require no photograph. Purchase at the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation office Sun – Fri 09:00 – 14:00 only (next to the Tourist Services office).

• Restricted Area Permits are required mainly for camping style trekking in remote areas near the Tibetan border for which a guide is strongly recommended. These will be procured by your chosen trekking.

How to reach there
There are many options to reach Chitwan National park, as there are regular tourist bus that leaves at 7:00 am in the morning from Kathmandu, or we can simply take private transport to reach chitwan and can start on any time of the day or there is regular flight to Chitwan more over  we can depart from Kathmandu at 7.00 A.M. There are direct buses to and from Kathmandu to Meghauli Village departing from the Kalanki Bus Park every day in the early morning and leaving passengers right in the village. You can get to the bus station by taxi or walking 20 minutes from Thamel to Balaju Chowk and then taking a local bus to Kalanki. On the way back buses depart from the main bus stand of the village.

2. Shukla Phanta National Park (listed in 2017 as National park)

Nepal Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve was managed as a hunting reserve beginning 1969, and was gazetted as a Wildlife Reserve in 1976, covering an area of 305 sq. km. Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve lies in the extreme south-western section of Nepal Terai in Kanchanpur District. The reserve shares a common boundary with the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh in the south and west which is formed by the Mahakali (Sarda), River, and a major tributary of the Ganges. Shukla Phanta jungle safari is bordered on the eastern side by the Chaudhar River and to the north by a forest belt and cultivations.
Although the area of the Reserve is small, it supports a wide range of biodiversity which is nationally and globally important.

How to reach there
The reserve is accessible by the road as well as air. The reserve will be easily accessible by road from any parts of Nepal with the completion of the far-western sector of east-West Highway. There is once a week flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi which is 51 km far from the park headquarters. There is regular public bus service from Dhangadi to Mahendranagar taking 3 hours drive and the reserve headquarters is 8 km south-west of Mahendranagar.
Flights from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi . The taxi from the Dhangadhi Airport to Shuklaphanta (45 km). The trip is about two hours. Overnight bus rides are also available, and take about 20 hours. And Mahendranagar's main bazaar is 3 kilometers from the main park entrance, and can find a motorcycle taxi.

3. Bardiya National Park

A relaxing wildlife safari in Bardia National Park is the ultimate wildlife experience of a lifetime in your trip to Nepal. Located in the far west lowland Terai region of Nepal, Bardia is the largest of the National Parks in Nepal. In 1976 the park was first granted as the Royal Karnali Wildlife Reserve with an area of only 368 sq. km. but in 1982 it was extended to include the Babai River Valley and renamed the Royal Bardia Wildlife Reserve. The park now covers an area of 968 sq. km. Bardia Wildlife Reserve was granted the status of a National Park in 1988 in order to preserve the decreasing species of its rare ecosystem.

It is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in Nepal’s Terai, adjoining the eastern bank of the Karnali River in the Bardiya District.Together with the neighboring Banke National Park, the coherent protected area of 1,437 sq km (555 sq mi) represents the Tiger Conservation Unit (TCU) Bardiya-Banke that extends over 2,231 sq km (861 sq mi) of alluvial grasslands and subtropical moist deciduous forests.

How to reach there
There are buses from both Pokhara(~12hrs) and Kathmandu(~17hrs) directly to Bardia or to  which is another couple hours by bus from the entrance of the park. Buses from Nepalgunj and other surrounding cities just going by the park can drop you at Ambassa/Aambassa which is another 16km away from the entrance, but any hotel will come pick you up there for free. You can ask to be let off at Kohalpur from buses headed to Nepalgunj and then get a bus from there to Ambassa or directly to the park entrance if you're lucky. You can fly to Nepalgunj and then follow the instructions above for getting to the park. Hiring a private taxi from Nepalgunj to the park entrance is also possible.

4. Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve 

The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is a protected area in the Terai of eastern Nepal covering 175 km2 (68 sq mi) of wetlands in the Sunsari, Saptari and Udayapur Districts. In altitude it ranges from 75 to 81 meters (246 to 266 ft) and consists of extensive mudflats, reed beds, and freshwater marshes in the floodplain of the Sapta Kosi River. Koshi Tappu Jungle Safari was established in 1976 and designated as a Ramsar site in December 1987.

How to reach there
Most visitors come on a package tour with a prearranged pick-up from Biratnagar airport, but it’s easy enough to travel here as an independent traveler. The best way is to fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar, then take a taxi to the park. By public transport, you can catch a bus along the Mahendra Highway to Laukahi , 15km east of the Koshi Barrage. Get off at the police station, from where rickshaws serve both the Koshi Camp and Koshi Tappu Wildlife Camp. For the park headquarters and Koshi Tappu Birdwatching Camp, get off at Jamuha, from where it’s a further 2.5km walk.Buses from Kathmandu (12 to 14 hours) departs  ,while from the east you can jump on any bus heading along the Mahendra Highway.

2. Parsa Wildlife Reserve

Parsa Wildlife Reserve Safari is a rare opportunity to experience the nature and culture of Nepal’s Terai, Spread over parts of Chitwan, Makawanpur, Parsa and Bara districts, a considerable part of the Churia Hills of Central Nepal also falls in this region lending it an air of a more diverse terrain.

Another option is to fly to Simra in Bara district, from where the reserve headquarters is only seven kilometers away.
